I am a practising emergency physician. The questions in my writing come from that work: deciding, every shift, that someone is there behind a face, a silence, a set of observations that will never be complete.
I work at Monash Health and the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department. I teach at Monash University. The rest of the week is the same question in other rooms — the Emergency Medicine Symposium, which I co-convene, and Intelligent Mind, which I founded to teach health professionals how to use AI without surrendering judgement.
The first book, I Know I Am Conscious. But How Do I Know You Are?, follows that question into minds that do not look like ours. Other books will follow.
